Small businesses turn to new technology to reduce overhead costs

The value of the proper equipment is something that can not be ignored. By outfitting a small business with the latest technology, entrepreneurs can further streamline their operations.

For example, T-Mobile recently partnered with Square to offer its credit card readers to retail merchants. This innovative technology enables small businesses to accept credit card transactions through a piece of hardware that attaches to smartphones. With Square technology in place, merchants don't need to invest in costly credit card terminals or pay expensive swipe fees.

"The easy-to-use device has become increasingly popular among small business owners. Inc. contributors have noted recently that taxi drivers are using the device to duck higher credit card fees, and even President Obama is using the square attachment to help raise funds for his re-election campaign," Inc. Magazine notes.

If entrepreneurs are having trouble affording new technology, then they may want to consider equipment leasing, which can provide them with the necessary funds to purchase new hardware.
