Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

General Summary:

The primary focus is to increase revenue through new business lead generation and/or account retention by selling merchant credit card processing services to small business owners. The Merchant Processing Sales Rep will suggest products that meets the customer's needs and maintains contact with existing customers to increase referrals.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Influence existing and potential customers on the merits of doing business with FPC
  • Provides credit card processing product information, features, and benefits to customers
  • Conducts sales presentations via the phone
  • Requests appropriate information from customer to determine eligibility for merchant processing eligibility.
  • Initiates the contract, ensures information is completed, and forwards file to processing center.
  • Maintains customer order information and activity logs. Reports as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all customer and company records and account numbers
  • Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years related inside/outside financial sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondences and memos. Must follow instructions and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply basic arithmetic
  • Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets, Outlook and an ability to quickly learn and navigate through FPC Sales Database software and related technologies
